Abstract
Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.
Technical Summary
To develop and carry out field studies into the epidemiological characteristics of overseas FMDV outbreaks with a view towards: 1) providing accurate histories in connection with outbreaks of FMDV from which isolates are sent to IAH-Pirbright for laboratory characterisation; 2) Investigating the importance of carriers in these outbreaks; 3) Investigating the role of vaccines as used in the field in the control of FMD.
