Abstract
This research project will develop and broaden knowledge for both England and Hong Kong and the mainland in low power design of FPGA based matrix algorithms, software implementation of image and signal processing algorithms and their implementation on FPGA. The project will contribute towards the establishment of strong collaborative links between Queens University in England and HKUST in Hong Kong, in a very important research area. The multi-disciplinary nature of the project will also contribute towards the production of highly trained and knowledgeable students in a particularly important topic. The results of this work may form the foundation for attracting future industrial collaborations
