APPLICATION FOR OVERSEAS TRAVEL GRANT FOR ACADEMICS ATTENDING THE CMES/IMechE TRIBOLOGY SYMPOSIUM, Beijing, 2006

This proposal is for a travel grant to enable eight leading UK researchers in the field of Tribology (lubrication, friction and wear) to attend a prestige meeting to be held in Beijing, China at Tsinghua University. The UK Tribologists have been invited to take part by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society and will be representing the Institution of Mechanical Engineers at the Symposium. The Symposium will provide an opportunity to exchange information about leading Tribology Research in China and the UK. It is being held at the leading Chinese Research Institute which is part of the most highly regarded University in China.
