Galois Quarter
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Manchester
Department Name: Mathematics
Abstract
We propose to participate in the Galois Quarter at the Institut Henri Poincare in Paris in order to incorporate some of the ideas and techniques of arithmetic geometry and the Langlands Programme into our own research on group actions on rings.
Planned Impact
The proposed research and subsequent work will contribute to the body of knowledge in mathematics and to the training of future researchers. The economic impact lies in the way that this knowledge diffuses over time into the many and well-documented applications of mathematics in science, technology and finance.
