📣 Help Shape the Future of UKRI's Gateway to Research (GtR)

We're improving UKRI's Gateway to Research and are seeking your input! If you would be interested in being interviewed about the improvements we're making and to have your say about how we can make GtR more user-friendly, impactful, and effective for the Research and Innovation community, please email gateway@ukri.org.

Multi-layered abstractions for PDEs

Lead Research Organisation: University of Hull
Department Name: Engineering

Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Description The original ideas proposed as part of this project to extend the capabilities of VOX-FE were unsuccessful. Nevertheless, the VOX-FE software still has improved functionality, it is currently being developed further.
Exploitation Route The VOX-FE software was still enhanced but not in the way initially anticipated.
Sectors Aerospace

Defence and Marine

Energy

Healthcare

including Industrial Biotechology

Description Non-academic inputs are at an early stage, but the VOX-FE software is now being used as part of a Prosperity Partnership award - A new partnership in offshore wind (EP/R004900/1) - to design next generation wind turbine blades using biomimetic principles based around the structure of bone.
