Abstract
Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

| Description | A sound understanding of the microstructure of this material has been developed using a combination of electron microscopy, electron diffraction, X-ray diffraction and theoretical modelling. The way functional properties change with temperature can now be linked to changes in the structure, i.e. distortions of the metal-oxide framework, which induce ferroelectricity. |
| Exploitation Route | This is the first in-depth study of this material and establishes a framework that can be used across the whole class of tetragonal tungsten bronzes. They stil look promising for high voltage/hgh temperature applications. |

| PI Contribution | Based on demonstrated expertise in electron microscopy of ferroelectric oxides - publications and presentations funded by this award - I was contacted by Prof. Ian Reaney to work on a joint UKRI proposal for quasi-linear dielectric materials based on NaNbO3. This has been funded (start date March 2025). Initial analysis of materials provided by Prof. Reaney has taken place and the data will contribute to a publication, to be submitted presently. |
| Collaborator Contribution | Development of materials and concepts for the new proposal. Provision of materials for analysis at Warwick. |
