Description | During its first year, the International Quantum Tensor Network has generated substantial new engagement between researchers across academia and industry in the UK, the US and Europe around the use of Tensor Network techniques to programme future quantum computers, and to simulate quantum systems on classical computers. These engagements over the first year are expected to seed new research directions and collaborations over the course of the coming years. |
Exploitation Route | This could generate new techniques for academia and industry to use quantum computers, as well as improved algorithms for classical supercomputers. On the side of conventional computing alone, there are substantial opportunities to use these techniques to simulate classical fluid dynamics, or expand existing techniques in quantum chemistry. |
