The size of this file provides scope for analysis at local authority level. Because the data contains individual records for a full range of census topics it is possible to produce your own tables, multivariate models and specify complex indicators for mapping. This session provides participants with an opportunity to explore the potential of census microdata in a supported setting. The workshop starts with a brief introduction to the availability local authority geography in census microdata (both in the Small Area Microdata and more detailed data in a safe setting). Users are then invited to explore the Small Area Microdata file during a hands-on practical session using Nesstar and SPSS. |
