Description In 2011 the research was cited in an ODI-UNICEF report Through the social policy evaluation workshops that took place in Lebanon in 2011 and 2012, we were able to engage with policy-makers in this country context and develop new networks of academics and policy-makers In 2015, Rana Jawad was invited to make a presentation about her research to the UK Commission on Religion in British Public Life. The commission will aim to advise the new British government on public policy in relation to religious diversity in the UK. In 2014 and 2015, Rana Jawad has been invited to present her research at conferences and offer expert advice on MENA social policy to the following: Government of Oman's new social work strategy; UNRISD (Geneva) Ne Directions in Social Policy Programme, UN-DESA (New York), SOLIDAR (EU); Keogh School of Public Affairs; DFID MENA team; British Council (Egypt); UNDP regional office for the Arab States for whom Rana Jawad write a research paper on social policy in the Arab countries; the Issam Fares Institute at the American University in Beirut (Lebanon) for whom she has written a policy brief on her ESRC research; the Keogh School of Public Affairs (University of Notre Dane, USA); UNDP on social protection for people living with HIV; UK Home Office on MENA country profiles for assessing asylum and refugee applications. The MENA social policy network which Rana Jawad established in 2013 is now organising its third conference in collaboration with the German Development Institute, The conference will take place on 5-6 December 2016. From 2017 onwards, the research continues to grow in strength with the securing of a Carnegie Grant and the establishment of the MENA social policy database. I am now expaning my research further into social protection and continue to strengthen my research networks and expland my field of research. I continue to be consulted as an expert to UN organisation and also funders such as the Ford Foundation on the matter of social protection.
