Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Description Tools for the presentation of performance information can be successfully developed and implemented online to inform citizens about local public services' performance.
Citizens respond to performance information about local public services.
Citizens tend to respond more to negative information about performance (negativity bias).
Citizens' voice behaviour is not always responsive to receiving performance information.
Exploitation Route Research should examine different forms of presenting information and the influence of factors including the order of presenting information about a local public service. Research should examine factors affecting whether citizens update their perceptions of performance and the extent to which this is affected by citizens' characteristics (for example coproduction of the service with the service provider which may reduce the influence of negative information on updating).
