Description The portion of the grant on which I am PI was set up specifically to genotype banded mongooses in a long-term study at sufficient microsatellites to allow parentage to be assigned and relatedness to be determined between individuals. The resulting data have been used both in analyses by the technician / post-doc (now a lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University) and by the lead PI, Mike Cant. I would direct the reader to the submissions by Mike Cant at Exeter University for an overview of the picture that is emerging from these studies.
Exploitation Route As the basis for future research in understanding social interactions, kin selection and reproductive decision-making. Other will, and have, cited this work and will derive satisfaction and the appearance of rigour by doing so.
