Low-energy triggering for Hyper-Kamiokande
in Journal of Physics: Conference Series
Description | The objective of this grant was to develop a first design of the data acquisition (DAQ) and trigger systems for the Hyper-Kamiokande experiment and to take these items forward as part of the UK Hyper-Kamiokande construction proposal. The DAQ and trigger systems are now recognized as a significant UK contribution to the international project. |
Exploitation Route | The UK Hyper-K Collaboration have now submitted a request for construction funding based on work completed during this R&D grant. |

PI Contribution | Member of the Hyper-Kamiokande collaboration since 2013. I am manager of the UK Data Acquisition (DAQ) work package. Through this I am a member of the "conveners+ group" which helps direct the physics focus and design of the experiment. I am currently supervising a PhD student working on the experiment (and affiliated with Lancaster University) and I am line manager for a postdoc. |
Collaborator Contribution | Please see Hyper-Kamiokande website given below for full details. Collaborators choose to focus on an aspect of the experiment's design and also physics sensitivity studies. |
