Abstract

Abstracts are not currently available in GtR for all funded research. This is normally because the abstract was not required at the time of proposal submission, but may be because it included sensitive information such as personal details.

Rademacker Jonas TORCH Reconstruction

Description As part of the award, we performed (a) testbeam and calibration studies for the TORCH detector, (b) developed new TORCH reconstruction algorithms, and (c) we ported tracking reconstruction algorithms on Intelligence Processing Units.
For (a): initial results are promising, but not yet final
For (b): our new algorithm is about 100x faster than the previous one.
For (c): IPUs do not lend themselves well for VELO the tracking algorithm under study.
