Abstract
I intend to research how to process large volumes of complex data received from a multitude of sources, consider the level of trust in these sources and correlate this data using background context to generate recommended courses of action with confidence measures and rationale. Cases where important, discrete and in some sense irrevocable decisions need to be made in the context of continuous (streamed) and evolving real-time information with uncertain outcomes are of particular interest. It is not only the decision of 'what to do' that is of interest but the decision of 'when to enact it', with the implication that the consequent action will have a direct influence on the stream of information that continues to be processed.
