Description | NGTS Consortium |
Organisation | Next-Generation Transit Survey |
Sector | Charity/Non Profit |
PI Contribution | Access to NGTS data and resources regarding data access and quality issues. Contribution towards planet discovery papers as listed in "Publications". |
Collaborator Contribution | Access to the NGTS data has allowed me to conduct an extremely large scale study on stellar rotations, something which would not be possible from outside the consortium as not all data is publicly accessible. |
Impact | Any and all publications in the "Publications" section will be as a part of the NGTS consortium. |
Start Year | 2017 |
Description | Cool Stars 20.5 Virtually Cool Conference |
Form Of Engagement Activity | A talk or presentation |
Part Of Official Scheme? | No |
Geographic Reach | International |
Primary Audience | Professional Practitioners |
Results and Impact | The Cool Stars 20.5 virtual conference was held W/C 01 March 2021. I submitted a poster + 1 minute research "Haiku" to the event (https://zenodo.org/record/4564132#.YEXwzWSeT0o). The event was virtually attended by over 1,000 stellar physicists, students and members of the general public and media. |

Description | IIAS Workshop: Big Data, Small Planets |
Form Of Engagement Activity | Participation in an activity, workshop or similar |
Part Of Official Scheme? | No |
Geographic Reach | International |
Primary Audience | Professional Practitioners |
Results and Impact | Attended a workshop on the use of big data and machine learning within exoplanet research. Gave a 30 minute presentation entitled "Looking for periodic signals in millions of NGTS light curves.". Made some excellent contacts who were asking follow-up questions for the duration of the workshop regarding the signal processing methods employed in the work. |
