Abstract

The project concerns the development and implementation of mathematical models to formulate predictions on fluid and drug delivery through soft biological tissues. The analysis will involve development and (numerical and/or analytical) solutions of suitable multiscale transport equations (e.g. advection-diffusion-reaction PDEs), coupled with appropriate balance equations to account for the interplay between the (poro) mechanics (modeled in the context of the theory of elasticity) of the diseased tissue (such as for example the hearth) and the spatio-temporal profile of fluid and injected drugs.
