Integrated mid-index photonics for out of plane monitoring

Abstract
The project will focus on the Development of key components based on a mid-index photonic material such as multiplexers and high efficiency gratings couplers. The research aims to advance the field of optical interconnect linked to a CMOS temperature insensitive material for multiplexers as well as develop high efficiency grating couplers for out of plane beam scanning. Applications of the technology will have impact in a number of fields such as integrated photonics for data centres and remote sensing.
