In this chapter the authors Peter Terry and Andrew Lane explore mood and emotion. They Þrst describe the early work that derived from the use of the Pro-Þle of Mood States, a clinical tool. Then they illuminate their sport-speciÞc approach, which emphasizes the key role of depressed mood, before discussing the process of emotion and mood regulation.
