City in Film: Liverpool's urban landscape and the moving image
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Liverpool
Department Name: Politics
Abstract
Liverpool, a city documented and represented in film for more than a century, is an ideal site to develop and disseminate new understandings of cinematic theme, form and industrial organisations as they play their roles in re-shaping the contemporary architecture landscape of the city.
In partnership with local, regional and national organisations and individuals, this project brings together material for cataloguing and scholarly analysis with public screenings, exhibitions and lectures as part of the university's contribution to the city's 800 capital of Culture celebrations.
