Advanced GNSS Receiver for Positioning and Timing in Space
Lead Participant:
SURREY SATELLITE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED
Abstract
In this study, SSTL will develop the prototype of a new generation of space GNSS receiver that will be sufficiently reconfigurable to not only track GPS but also Galileo signals (and others) in space. In collaboration with Chronos, the timing performance and robustness of the space receiver will be enhanced through the use of a disciplined (or otherwise synchronised) oscillator to generate a non-interruptable timing pulse for the satellite. The potential for using a chip-scale atomic clock (CSAC) as the receiver timing source will be investigated with applications for use at low and high orbits (LEO and GEO)
