Description | *Thea Musgrave archival holdings at the BL organised and catalogued, increasing discoverability of an important collection of primary sources for researchers and general public; *based on research into the archival holdings at the BL and elsewhere, contemporary compositional praxis interrogated and elucidated, using Thea Musgrave as a case study (see PhD thesis for details); *new primary-source material gathered and added to archival holdings at the British Library. |
Exploitation Route | Researchers and interested members of the general public can consult the Musgrave archival holdings at the British Library, which have become significantly more accessible and discoverable due to the organising and cataloguing work undertaken in the course of this studentship. The elucidation of compositional praxis in the PhD thesis can be taken forward by musicians, musicologists, music educators, publishers, commissioners of new music, and other interested parties involved in contemporary classical music. The ideas from the research may also be of relevance and value to those beyond music but engaged in interrogating creativity, cultural production, theatre, and/or archival collections. |
