Simulations of galaxy clusters
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Manchester
Department Name: Physics and Astronomy
Abstract
The project will involve analysing C-Eagle data to help determine the structure of the dark matter halos. This will be done initially using the caustic method. The results using the caustic method can then be compared with the true dark matter halo in the simulation which will give an indication of any bias/shortcomings of the caustic method. Other ways to measure halo properties will also likely be tested in a similar fashion.
