Bredon cohomology of groups
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Southampton
Department Name: School of Mathematics
Abstract
Description: The aim of the Ph.D. project is to investigate various properties of groups with respect to families of subgroups using Bredon cohomology of those groups for families of subgroups. Computing the Bredon cohomological dimensions and interpreting the lower dimensional Bredon cohomology of groups will be the main focus.

Description | There are many types of 'cohomology' in Algebraic Topology. I have managed to merge two of them to create a new, separate cohomology. I have since been working on 'Zorn's Lemma' type scenarios and hope to apply my findings to minimax groups. These have been my two primary objectives of the PhD. I have mostly completed one; although, I hope to expand my current answer. I am in the process of answering the second objective. |
Exploitation Route | Other mathematicians will be able to use my findings to glean more information regarding specific groups and their cohomologies. It will hopefully help mathematicians to compare 2 (or more) specific values relating to a group. |
