Description | Greater understanding of the role of T cell subsets in the pathogenesis of paediatric tonsillar disease. (Published in Allergy) Greater understanding of how human T follicular helper cells are generated, and the signalling pathways required/used for their generation. (Currently being prepared for submission/publication). This includes a new methodology for the generation of these cells in vitro. |
Exploitation Route | The methods described to generate cells of interest (human T follicular helper cells) may be of use for those wanting to screen compounds which target T cell specific proteins, or to continue to research how TFH interact with other cells. Such techniques might be useful due to the inherent difficulties of studying human TFH in and in vivo setting. |
