Abstract
The current environmental pressure requires more efficient and greener combustion with less emission and noise. In this project, we aim to study the use of steel perforated liners for attenuating the combustion noise and mitigating combustion instabilities, especially for low frequency components, which is the main problem for efficient combustion.
This project will investigate and optimise perforated liner design through both experimental measurements and acoustic theoretical analyses of some key physical variables, such as temperature, air velocity, hole shape, hope distribution and different layout combination of the double liners. It aims to ultimately reduce combustion noise and instability to further improve the combustion efficiency and reduce harmful gas emission.

Description | I have submitted Hot Acoustic Temperature Test Rig to Siemens Lincoln to measure impedance in hot condition. In addition to that, I have developed a Numerical Model which can predict absorption of a cylindrical liner without flow condition. it has been compared with a high-quality database for the acoustic modeling of perforated liners and measured experimental analysis. |
