Abstract
The Mapping Nearby Galaxies and Apache Point Observatory (MaNGA) integral field spectroscopy (IFS) survey (Bundy et al., 2015) is a core program of the fourth generation of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-IV). MaNGA's data for gas and stellar kinematics as well as for chemical composition for a sample of 10,000 low-redshift galaxies will be used alongside bulge-disk-arms decomposition techniques to investigate the properties of each component of disk galaxies. The angular momenta of the bulge component of disk galaxies will be measured and compared to those of simulated galaxies to test models of bulge formation and evolution.
