Iron Complexes in Detergents
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Cambridge
Department Name: Chemistry
Abstract
The project involves the investigation of iron complexes that are potential cleaning agents (catalysts) in detergents. The project will involve the synthesis of new complexes and their reactions under oxidising conditions. The complexes will be characterised by modern techniques such as multinuclear NMR (where approriate), X-ray, IR, ESR etc. The aim of the project is to uncover the mechanism(s) of action of these species.
