Abstract
Metamaterials are nano-patterned artificial media that can exhibit properties beyond those seen in natural materials. Creating tunable and switchable metamaterials is of great interest for many practical applications. Utilising liquid crystals, with their attractive optical properties and easily controllable nature, is an exciting method to accomplish this.
