Abstract
Interactions play major role in dynamics of one-dimensional gases. In this project we study a peculiar effect arising when two clouds of interacting bosons collide and their momentum distribution is monitored.
The momentum distribution is predicted to show narrowing due to particles reversing the direction of their motion during the collision and we are studying this many-body bounce by using quantum hydrodynamics based on Luttinger liquid model of the interacting gas.
