Translating neuroscience: A critical perspective
Lead Research Organisation:
CARDIFF UNIVERSITY
Department Name: Cardiff Business School
Abstract
The aim of the research is to investigate perceptions on the practical relevance of neuroscience to organisations and to explore the impact it is having. This includes the possible emergence of a brain-based discourse, affecting how we have come to think of ourselves and, within an organisational context, the ubiquitous conceptualisation of human capital.
It is enivisaged that the research will make both theoretical and practical contributions through establishing the role of a brain-based discourse in neuroscience in organisation, adding to knowledge concerning the ethical implications of neuroscience and engaging with non-academics using blog-based activities and other opportunities to discuss and present to practitioners.
