Abstract
The work will happen within the NA62 experiment at CERN.
The experiment makes use of an hadronic secondary beam to investigate
kaon rare and exotic processes. The focus of this PhD is dual: the study of the
ultra-rare kaon decay K+ to pi+ nu nu via the optimization of the signal versus
background selection; and the search for the lepton favour violating process
K+ to p mu e (for which 5 decay channels are theorised) which is forbidden in the Standard Model.
