Product-resistant biocatalysts for bio-based acrylics manufacturing
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Nottingham
Department Name: Faculty of Engineering
Abstract
This project aims to develop bio-based manufacturing within the Chemicals and Materials Manufacturing Sector (214K direct jobs, £55Bn), thus enabling growth of the UK Bioeconomy. The project addresses the UK Industrial Strategy (UKIS) by cultivating this world leading industrial sector. The project falls within the Manufacturing and materials of the future challenge, by delivering a new, sustainable bio-based manufacturing process for acrylic monomers, thus ensuring sustainable provision of advanced materials for the automotive and aviation industries, and a wide range of other sectors.
