Abstract
This research mainly focuses on studying human-computer interaction between electromagnetic (EM) designers and state-of-the-art computational intelligence techniques for microwave filter and diplexer design automation. An intelligent user interface (IUI)-based design automation tool will be produced, published and disseminated. Another topic is implementing state-of-the-art computational intelligence techniques in a robust and reliable manner, which will be included in this tool. Real-world resonator-based microwave filters and diplexers will be synthesized by this tool. This tool is expected to bring transformative change to microwave filter/diplexer design. I intend to apply for the School of Engineering Scholarship to support my PhD research. I wish to join in the Emerging Device Technology group led by Prof. Lancaster to carry out the proposed research.
