Abstract
Ideally, the research could shed light on whether majority
shareholders and activists have a positive impact on the
acquisition strategy of a firm. This would have further
implications for the optimal governance structure of firms,
potentially suggesting that larger shareholders have a higher
disciplining effect on the management.
