Abstract
In this project, I aim to develop and evaluate the use of gamification and collaboration as a way of improving the security mindset of developers as they produce software. This would be done by integrating a serious game or peer collaboration into the software development process. The outcomes of this project are to improve the overall security of software by directly targeting the developers, as well as finding which types of gamification and collaboration work well together. This project will be useful as it will help tackle the oft-reported security failures in the increasingly present software systems in the world. This will also make use of the democratisation of programming that has taken place in recent times.

Description | Investigated using an online computer source code browser as a setup to assist with experimentation, including alongside games or training. Findings suggest that the technology is workable, but good collaboration with games designers is required to create a very tight link between any game interventions and code. |
