Abstract
This project will measure the differential production cross sections of a top-quark pair in association with a Z or W boson using the full 13 TeV dataset collected by the ATLAS detector.
The differential cross section measurement of the associated production of tt events with a vector boson has, to date, never been measured. Not only is the measurement interesting and important to make in its own right, it is a useful tool to search for deviations from Standard Model (SM) predictions which could be due to Beyond the Standard Model (BSM) effects.
Any deviations from the SM due to BSM effects can be parameterised in a model independent way using the framework of the SM Effective Field Theory (SMEFT).
