Using artificial intelligence to improve decisionmaking in conservation conflicts

Lead Research Organisation: University of Stirling
Department Name: Biological and Environmental Sciences

The proposed project will be primarily focused on modelling complex social-ecological
systems, and in particular the development and application of artificial intelligence (AI) in
agent-based models to real-world case studies involving conservation conflict. The sucessful
student will therefore need to have strong skills in complex systems modelling, decision making
theory, and programming. The student will also need a strong understanding of the
broader social-ecological context in which these skills will be used, and must have an
interest in applying complex models to case studies of biological populations under
conservation conflict.
