Levulinic acid based sustainable polymers
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Warwick
Department Name: Chemistry
Abstract
Levulinic acid is one of the most important chemical compounds that can be obtained from cellulosic waste. This project will focus on the utilisation of levulinic acid in various polymer structures. Novel synthesis methods will be developed to convert levulinic acid into polymers. These polymers will then be tested for the physical properties such as thermal and mechanical properties.
