Abstract
The main aim of the research project is to model the causal relationship between teacher and student wellbeing. To explore this relationship, the research proposes to employ multi-level modelling and assess the factors important in mediating wellbeing. The latter approach will generate data based on group and individual variables for understanding - on an individual level - what impacts student and teacher mental well-being, in the context of teacher-pupil relationships. The project will, in this regard, generate theory on mental wellbeing inequalities within secondary schools and, with the addition of a qualitative consultation process, provide impact by exploring policy deficits in the area of mental well-being within school settings.
