Preparation and Characterisation of Novel Supercapacitor Materials
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Cambridge
Department Name: Chemistry
Abstract
The project will use a range of unusual experimental methods and some novel samples to investigate supercapacitors. The experimental methods will include SFG, neutron reflection and other surface sensitive/specific approaches, which will be be performed under electrochemical conditions to characterise the adsorption behaviour of large organic ions from non-aqueous solvents. The new materials will be following on from recent work to produce conducting MOFs. The recent material 'FeQ' will be explored in a number of ways (such as growth on a conducting surface) as well as extensions to other related organic species and metal ions.
The project will combine training in the methods of materials preparation with novel physical characterisation.
