Theoretical and practical aspects of quantum communication
Lead Research Organisation:
University of York
Department Name: Computer Science
Abstract
The studentship is related to the study of network communication protocols. The main direction is the design of more robust network protocols for quantum key distribution, quantum secret sharing and secured quantum conferencing. To achieve these goals, the student will investigate the use of more advanced post-processing procedures, e.g., based on post-selection techniques, as well as different types of quantum hardware. Besides the optical frequencies, the feasibility of the protocols at microwaves and THz will also be analyzed and evaluated.
