7T MRI for vulnerable subjects
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Nottingham
Department Name: Sch of Physics & Astronomy
Abstract
This project aims to develop rapid and comfortable methods necessary for imaging patients using 7T MRI in a way that can exploit the new capabilities of this technology. It will initially involve implementing rapid methods of measuring physiologically important MRI parameters. Various methods of speeding up the imaging will be investigated including the use of undersampling in MRI and motion monitoring. These methods will be validated in phantoms and in vivo in healthy volunteers. Finally, it will involve applying these in a range of conditions but in particular crohn's disease and chronic liver disease.
