Soft-templated 3D nanostructured semiconductors
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Southampton
Department Name: Sch of Chemistry
Abstract
This proposal seeks to exploit lyotropic liquid crystalline phases as templates for the electrochemical fabrication of a wide range of 3D nanostructured semiconductors that are of relevance for applications in solar cells, LEDs, optoelectronic devices and thermoelectric devices. In particular the project will explore how the composition, conditions and processing of the lyotropic soft templates can be used to control their structure, and how these structural properties in turn affect the properties of semiconductor materials templated from them.
