Characterisation and behaviour of advanced Nickel base superalloys after rotary friction welding
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Birmingham
Department Name: Metallurgy and Materials
Abstract
The study will address microstructure-processing-property relationships in advanced nickel-based superalloys after rotary friction welding. Particular attention will be given to assess high temperature crack growth resistance in both air and vacuum environments to elucidate underlying micro-mechanisms of crack growth and to predict the performance of such alloys in civil aerospace applications.
