Developing CMOS Tracker and investigating Rare charm decays at LHCb
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Manchester
Department Name: Physics and Astronomy
Abstract
This is a joint project between Rutherford Appleton Laboratory and the University of Manchester.
LHCb is planning a new version of the experiment for the HL-LHC era. This will include the first radiation hard CMOS tracker at the LHC, exploiting this new merging technology. The student will assist in the design and study of the prototypes of this detector. The student will also study rare and Standard Model forbidden decays of charm mesons using data taken by the LHC during Run2.
