Electrodynamics of the solar wind-magnetosphere-ionosphere-atmosphere coupled system
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Leicester
Department Name: Physics and Astronomy
Abstract
This studentship project will utilise data from the multi-satellite AMPERE project, in addition to other space and ground based observatories to investigate and develop our understanding of the electrodynamics of the near-Earth system, in addition to the response of this system to variations in the solar wind. In particular, the initial focus will be looking into the nature and evolution of Geomagnetic storms.
