Crystallization in Drug Delivering Liposomes
Lead Research Organisation:
University of Strathclyde
Department Name: Inst of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sci
Abstract
This research project aims at understanding the crystal nucleation in liposomes. On the one hand, this will lead to the development of new accurate nucleation theories that can be used for predicting and controlling nucleation under confined as well industrial conditions. On the other hand, the project results shed light on crystallization and solid state behavior in liposomes, relevant for shelf life and stability of liposome formulations involving for instance drugs with low aqueous solubility.
