Cosmology from the Cosmic Microwave Background with the Simons Observatory

Abstract
The Simons Observatory is a next-generation Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) experiment currently being built for deployment in the Atacama Desert, Chile. This project will have two strands. The first will emphasise work on the computing and analysis infrastructure relevant to this multi-national project, possibly including analysis of the raw data time-stream, measurement of the optical properties of the instruments, and planning the observational campaign. The second stream will emphasise predictions for the final cosmological results from the experiment: what extensions to the current cosmological model can be detected, and with which precision, under the influence of realistic instrumental errors and astrophysical contamination.
