Synthesis of responsive lanthanide probes for biological imaging
Lead Research Organisation:
Loughborough University
Department Name: School of Science
Abstract
This project will develop cell-penetrating luminescent metal complexes tuned to detecting target bioactive anions, thereby allowing real-time visualisation of biological processes in living cells using fluorescence microscopy. Probes capable of producing intense red emission while being readily excited by two-photon fluorescence microscopy will be developed, for use in biological and biomedical imaging applications.
