Investigating neutrino and antineutrino oscillation asymmetry with NOvA and DUNE
Lead Research Organisation:

Department Name: Physics and Astronomy
Abstract
Neutrino CP violation is the last unmeasured variable of the (nu) standard model of particle physics. This studentship will investigate the asymmetry between neutrinos and antineutrinos using the longest baseline accelerator neutrino experiments. NOvA is currently operating in the world's most powerful neutrino beam measuring neutrino oscillations with a baseline of 800km. The future DUNE experiment will exploit a more powerful beam using an even longer baseline. This studentship will involve exploiting the data from the NOvA experiment whilst helping to shape the future of the field with the DUNE experiment.
